Santorini is part of the Cycladic islands and is located directly north of the Island of Crete. Due to the fact that Philoxera never affected the island, most vines are between 50- 200 years old. Established in 1903, Estate Argyros is run by Matthew Argyros, 4th generation of winemaking. Based in Episkopi Santorini, the winery owns more than 30ha of vineyards with pre-phylloxera plants averaging 60 years old, including some of the oldest vines of the island (over 150 years old).
Yellow color with green scene. Of good intensity, fine, kind and relatively complex aromas that remind of minerals, lemon blossoms and citrus fruits. Full bodied, round palate with crisp and sparkling acidity that gives nerve and long finish.
Seafood and fish simply cooked, it is also complementary in many traditional tastes of Santorini such as fava, chloro cheese and tomato-balls. Serving suggestions: at 8-10°C.
